John Baptiste, Sr., 77, of Hayward, died Sunday. Mr. Baptiste was a native of Hawaii, where he had worked as a park superintendent. He is survived by his wife, Frances, five children, Violet Rodrigues, John Baptiste Jr., and Alvin Baptiste, all of Hayward, Richard Baptiste of Palo Alto and Herbert Baptist of Honolulu; two brothers, Alvin Baptist of Hayward, and Augustine Baptiste of Hawaii, and two sisters, Mary Medeiros and Silvia Andrade of Hawaii. Mass 5 pm tomorrow, St. Clement's Catholic Church, Hayward. Rosary 7:30 today, Sorensen Brothers Chapel, 1140 B Street, Hayward. Burial, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hayward.
