Miss (Hazel) Opaleene Beamer, age 99, of Greensboro, passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at Northern Regional Hospital in Mt. Airy.
She was born on May 2, 1923, in Surry County to the late Elbert Earl and Irene Pearl Gowen Beamer.
In addition to her parents, Miss Beamer was preceded in death by siblings Ernest and Garnet Beamer; Frances Beamer Collins; and dear friend Marue Summerlin.
Left to cherish her memories are her four nephews and a niece, Henry (Susan) Beamer, Richard (Marlene) Beamer, Dr. Andrew (Pat) Beamer, JoAnne (Dave) Schmidt, and Douglas Beamer; several great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Skyline Memory Gardens with services conducted by Rev. Danny Miller. There will be no formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Central United Methodist Church in Mt. Airy, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
