Effie Preston, 102, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, January 20, 2007. -Ms. Preston was born in Baldwin County November 28, 1904 to the late Bartow and Effie Holland Adams. She joined East Side Baptist Church, now known as Northridge Baptist Church, on March 10, 1918 and was an active member for 89 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Scoven Preston and her daughter Frances V. Lanford.
Her biggest regret was, "I never learned to drive."
