Sandra Denise "Sandy" Moore, 64, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2022, in Doey's House, Hagerstown, MD, with her husband by her side. Born May 31, 1957, in Fort Belvoir, VA, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Ellen (Doyle) Gamble. She graduated from Fairfax High School with the class of 1976. She was the beloved wife of Timothy L. Moore, whom she married in August of 2018 in Martinsburg, WVA. Sandy was employed as a bus driver and was Route Supervisor for Fairfax County VA School District.
She attended a Pentecostal Church. Sandy loved her grandkids, going to flea markets, her flowers, shopping, riding trains, antique machinery, shows, her dog scooter, and her "bear" (…also known as her husband). Sandy was a strong-willed woman, who did things her way. She will be loved and missed by all who knew her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons: Rob Bird of Hagerstown, MD and Charlie Bird, of Hedgesville, WVA; three grandchildren; her siblings: Barb Frazier, Lee High Acres, FL, Jackie Bottom (Joe), Waynesboro, PA, Karen Snow (Doug), Centreville, VA, Butch Gamble, (Margie), Manassas, VA, and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Gavin Bird, a sister, Sharon Gamble, and a nephew, Joey Bottom.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 1, 2022, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St. Greencastle, PA, with Pastor David Donahue officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Zion Cemetery, Quincy, PA.
