Mr. Shull died Tuesday, April 29, 2003, at Scott County Hospital in Scott City.
He was born Oct. 28, 1927, at Lamar, Colorado, the son of William Horton and Lucille Lloyd Lucas Shull. He attended school in Lamar through junior high before the family moved to Lane County, where he graduated from Dighton High School. He attended electrical school in Chicago before servining in the U.S. Army Air Force from 1947-1949. After his discharged from the service, he returned to Lane County and farmed, in 1977, he moved to Scott City where he was a long-time electrician with Wheatland Electric Co-op.
Mr. Shull was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dighton, a 32nd degree member of Barney Masonic Lodge No. 279 of Dighton and belonged to Isis Shrine of Salina. His special interest included hunting, fishing, singing, carpentry and woodwowrking. He also enjoyed spending time with childdren, especially his children and grandchildren.
On June 13, 1946, he married June J. Busch at Enid, Okla. She survives. He also is survived by a son, David Shull of Severn, Md.; four daughters, Sharron Shull of Hurst, Texas, Patricia Shull of Norfolk, Va., Janet Gibbs of Broomfield, Colo., and Cindy Hornback of Scott City; three grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Horton and Paul Shull.
Memorials are suggested to the Lane County Health Care Foundation, in care of Boomhower Funeral Home, Dighton, Kansas.
