HASKELL RITES ON FRIDAY

Funeral services for Roswell S. Haskell, 72, veteran barber, who was discovered dead in his shop Tuesday afternoon, will take place at the family home, 1522 Valley dr., Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery. Death was due to a heart attack. Mrs. Clara Haskell, his wife, told Coroner William R. Winne that Haskell did not leave for his shop at 1607 Valley dr. until noon yesterday because of the inclement weather. Two hours later Robert Six, 13, a Journal carrier, noticed Haskell lying on the floor of the barber shop as he was passing by. Surviving are his wife, a son, Roswell G. Haskell of New York City, and a daughter, Mrs. L. J. Palmer of Detroit, Mich.

Roswell "Rosky" Smith Haskell, son of John H. Haskell & Charlotte M. (nee French) and born on Oct. 22, 1867 in Geneva, Seneca County, NY. His parents divorced about 1880 while residing in Syracuse, NY. John H. Haskell remarried Josephine "Joey" Morgan on 4 Feb. 1880 and resided in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Believed John had been married several times during his lifetime. His occupation was a carpenter. Charlotte Mahala French remarried Edward Robinson who died before 1892, then in 1892 remarried Thomas E. Arnold of Ellenburg, Clinton County, NY. She was the daughter of James and Theodosia French.

Roswell first wife is not yet known. At age 66, on Dec. 27, 1933, married Mrs. Clara Mary (nee Odie) Briesemeister.

HASKELL-- In this city, Feb. 29, 1938, ROSWELL S. HASKELL. He is survived by a widow, Clara; one son, Roswell G. of New York city; a daughter, Mrs. L. J. Palmer of Detroit. Mich. Funeral from his late home, 1522 Valley Drive. Friday at 2 PM. Friends Invited. Interment at Woodlawn. McKinley Brothers Funeral Home In charge.
