JC was born in McLemoresville, Tennessee on 20 June 1944, to father Rufus Clint Goodrich and mother Nannie Bee Wesson Goodrich. The youngest of nine children, JC married his high school sweetheart Judy Carole Volner and joined the Navy in 1961 where he served honorably on both the USS Vulcan and the USS Marias. After the Navy, he used his G.I. Bill benefits to attend the University of Tennessee where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering; he graduated with High Honors distinction in only three years. JC spent his career with General Electric Company, moving throughout the United States with the company, in ever increasing levels of management and responsibility. JC and Judy loved to travel the United States, especially the western states, in their RV, logging over 100,000 miles in their travels. He also loved to fly, getting his first airplane in 1988; he passed along his love of flight to his son. JC was particularly proud of his children and especially his only grandchild.
JC was preceded in death by his parents and seven of his siblings.
A visitation and short service celebrating JC's life will be held Friday, 3 June 2022, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. The service will begin at 12:30 pm. The visitation and service will be at Rosewood Funeral Home in Atascocita located at 17404 West Lake Houston Parkway, Humble, TX 77346. JC's military burial ceremony will be held at a later date at the Houston National Cemetery.
