Dale Ira Brandenburg, age 89, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 29, 2022.

Dale was born December 19, 1932 in Stuart, Iowa to Ira and Bertha Brandenburg.

He proudly served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955, where he was a helicopter mechanic.

He retired from Firestone after 30 years as a lab technician.

Dale loved NASCAR and IndyCar Racing. He listened to all genres of music and liked fishing in his free time. He enjoyed going to the Iowa State Fair to watch the tractor pulls.
Dale's family was his greatest joy, and he loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren above all else.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his aunt and uncle, Nellie and Clarence Cooper, who were his guardians and raised him in Dexter, Iowa. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Bill, Don, Kenneth, and Keith.

Services will be held at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, June 5, 2022. Funeral service will be Monday, June 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
