Charles Allsup, 1005 Kellogg, Valparaiso, died early this morning after suffering a heart seizure in his home. He was born in St. Joseph Co, IN in 1873. He resided in Valparaiso for approximately 25 years and at one time was employed by this city. He was a son of Charles Rufus Allsop and Nancy Ellen Brown. He married (1) Mary "Mattie" Van Auken. After her death in 1921, he married Mrs. Mary Fern Palen Palmer. Surviving are four sons, Russell, RFD 2, Walkerton; Marvin, Valparaiso, and Robert, of Texas(only 3 named), two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Thomas, Hobart, and Mrs. Mabel Peterson, Atkins, AR; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Jennings, LaPorte, and Mts. Eva Bunton, North Liberty; and two brothers, Marvin, LaPorte, and Steve, Valparaiso. He is also survived by one step-son, William Palmer of Valparaiso, and one step-daughter, Mrs. Jesse Marshall, LaPorte. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
