Obituary of Frances Jean Abraham
Frances Jean "Fran" Abraham (nee Gerhart), 74, of Vermilion, died Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at Mercy Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
She was born February 12, 1948 in Dayton, OH and had been a Vermilion resident for the past 20 years moving from Dallas, TX and Akron, OH.
Fran retired from Garland Independent School District as a reading teacher in 2003. She had also taught at Florence Elementary School, Shawnee Elementary School, Huron and in Akron,OH.
She was a member of Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church where she was active with the Kids' Clothing Boutique. Fran loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas Abraham of Vermilion; daughter, Rachel Abraham of Dallas, TX; son, David (Stephanie Harris) Abraham of Cheyenne, WY; grandchildren, Alex, Dylan and Kira; and sisters, Sheila Knotts of Vermilion and Gina Burns of Port Charlotte, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Grace (nee Bonham) Gerhart.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June10, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12 Noon at the Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church, 752 Grand Street, Vermilion, OH 44089. The Reverend Nick Cacciatore will officiate. Private interment will take place at East Liberty Cemetery, Green, OH.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Kids' Clothing Boutique c/o Vermilion EandR Church, 752 Grand Street, Vermilion, Ohio.
