Gene Autry Aubrey was born March 8, 1938 in Washington D.C. and passed away December 5, 2020. His parents, James Frank Aubrey, Sr. (Deceased) Gladys Shelton Aubrey (Deceased), siblings Nina Lee (Hale) Cook (Deceased), James Aubrey, Gary Aubrey (Deceased), Robert Aubrey, Charles Aubrey, and Jeannie Aubrey. Gene graduated from Ponca City High School in 1956 and joined the Air Force immediately after graduation. He met and married Lorene Buckmaster. Their children, Glenda (Luis) Kirkham, Trina (Steve) Buie and Mark (Shamala) Aubrey. Gene retired from the Air Force as a E7, Jet Engine Mechanic with his last duty assignment at Luke Air Force Base in AZ. Gene received many commendations for his military service including Meritorious & Presidential awards. He met his present wife, Gwen and they were married July 5, 1980. Gwen has three children, Kelly (Tommy) Kimbrel, Eric Huff (Deceased), and Andrew (Kris) Huff. They have 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. After retirement, Gene continued to work with the Department of Defense in the Aerospace industry. These companies had military contracts with NASA, Boeing, & McDonald Douglas. Gene had a very distinguished career working with missiles on top secret contracts . After retiring in 1994, he and Gwen moved to Columbus, Montana where they have resided ever since. Gene started American Youth Soccer (AYSO) region in Montana which brought joy to countless kids, families and the community. Gene was an organizer, fundraiser, referee and an Area Director over the entire State of Montana during his soccer career. Gene was involved with AYSO for over 35 years. He held various positions in his HOA, the last one being President, Promise Keepers, Elder and choir member at Evangelical Church singing group. Gene was a wonderful Godly man who was a witness for our Heavenly Father. He will be loved and missed by many.
