Delmar Leigh Warner was born Feb 28, 1924 to Charles and Neva Warner at Holdridge, Nebraska. He was the middle child with older sister, Phyllis and younger brother, Neil. He spent his young life around Ord, Nebraska, graduating from Ord High School in 1942, where he excelled in track. Del was drafted into the US Army in December 1942 and started active service in January 1943 and served until May 1946, spending most of his time in the South Pacific.

On July 28, 1946, Delmar married Lela Beazley at her parent's home in Washta, Iowa. Their first home was in Storm Lake Iowa, where Del was a mechanic. Brenda Lee Warner was born April 14, 1949 in a snow storm while they were living on a farm in Washta, then the Cherokee farm until 1956, when years of drought forced them to another life in California.

Del worked for an electronic firm for 25 years while living in Belmont Ca. Del enjoyed hunting and fishing during these years in California. Del and Lela returned to Storm Lake, Iowa in the early 80's, where Del restored old cars, mostly model A's. They traveled around the US, Mexico and Canada extensively with family and friends and always had a good time.

In 2014 they returned to California to spend time with their growing family. He enjoyed working on cars, playing cards, his trips with son in law, Keith Christopherson to old car and hot rod functions.

Del was a member of the AMVETS and honor guard, Elks Club of Storm Lake. He was a past member of the Washta Methodist Church and Serapaci Car Club.
