Louis P. 'Lou' Berra, baptized into the hope of Christ's resurrection, Friday, January 18, 2008.

Dear husband of Lori (nee Hosselkus) Berra; dear father of Victorio Paul and Alexis Lorraine Berra; dear son of Victor and Mary Ann (nee Dalba) Berra; dear brother of Mary Jo (Will) Cone and Laurie (Steve) Lohbeck; son-in-law of Fred and Norma Hosselkus; dear brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Lou was a member of West County EMS and Fire Protection District and a member of the International Firefighters IAFF Local 2665.

According to the West County EMS and Fire Protection District, Firefighter/Paramedic Lou Berra was found in his bed Friday morning during the shift change.

Berra had served the district for 11 years. He also served with the Frontenac Fire Department for 12 years.

Chief Dave Frazier said, "Lou was an outstanding public servant, who has excelled at serving area residents. His passing has deeply saddened all of those who work for and with the West County EMS and Fire Protection District."

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Kriegshauser West Funeral Home, 9450 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63132.

The Firefighters Casket Vigil will occur during visitation at 6 p.m.

Full Firefighter Honor Funeral Services is scheduled for Monday, January 21, 2008 at St. Monica's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. The church is located at 12136 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63141. A procession will follow to the burial site at Resurrection Cemetery.
