Sam was born August 30, 1949, in Homer, Louisiana and went to be with his Lord and Savior June 7, 2022, in Shreveport, Louisiana. Sam served in the US Navy from 1967-1971 and served in Vietnam earning a National Defense Service medal and a Navy Unit Commendation. Sam loved to tinker and could build or fix anything. He loved to watch storms roll in from the comfort of his roof. He loved to fish and knew more about computers than most people, especially 72-year-olds. Sam had a great sense of humor and if you were around him for any amount of time your cheeks would hurt from laughing. Everywhere he went he made an impression and people loved him back! Even in the hospital the staff loved caring for and getting to know Mr. Sam. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Minden and he loved Jesus and people.
