Marguarite "Meg" Abrams, born in San Francisco, passed away at the age of 90. She was the eighth child of William McFall and Veronica Allen McFall. The family moved from San Francisco to Calistoga, California in 1941. Meg graduated from Calistoga High School participating in band, girls' sports and business courses. She continued her education at Santa Rosa Junior College becoming proficient in typing, shorthand and bookkeeping.
Meg met and married Airman Lewis "Nick" Abrams in 1954. She was an exemplary military wife, managing the home and growing family while Nick served 27 years in the US Air Force.
Meg was an excellent seamstress and avid baker. Among her many interests were camping with friends, playing bunco, bowling, golf, and the San Francisco Giants and 49ers. She was elected President of the Sacramento Women's Bowling Association and attended 35 consecutive annual National Bowling Tournaments. She delighted in her time working at Haggin Oaks Golf Course pro shop for more than 20 years and annually organized fund raising for First Tee golfing program. She often said her greatest treasures were her family and many friends. Those who knew her will remember her generosity and fun-loving spirit.
Meg is preceded in death by her beloved son Gary, her parents William and Veronica, her brothers Bill, Jerry, John and Larry, and her sisters Elizabeth, Clara and Lucille.
Meg is survived by her loving husband of 67 years Nick, her daughter Linda (Richard) Nelson, her granddaughter Katherine Nelson, and numerous nephews and nieces. The family wishes to express appreciation to her caregivers Jennifer and Maria of Vitas Care.
Private interment will be at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be planned at a later date. Remembrances may be made to United Cerebral Palsy.
