A funeral will be held Monday, April 10th for 70-year-old Clarence J. Kertz of Ste. Genevieve, who died Thursday at Crystal River Hospital, Crystal River, Florida.
He was born February 25th, 1930 in Zell, the son of Herman Kertz and Carrie Roth who both preceded in death.
He married Mary K. Kertz on July 7th, 1956 in Perryville. She preceded in death.
He married Mary Lou Basler-Burgert on September 28th, 1996 in Zell. She survives.
Two sons also survive: Chris Kertz and his wife Linda of Ste. Genevieve and Dale Kertz and his wife Cindy of Perryville.
Two daughters survive: Janet, Mrs. Robert Hermann of Imperial and Doris, Mrs. David Steinbecker Jr. of Perryville.
Two brothers survive: Bernard Kertz and his wife Dorothy of Huntsville and Gerald Kertz and his wife Esther of Ste. Genevieve.
One sister survives: Rosella, Mrs. Jim Grobe, of Ste. Genevieve.
Two stepchildren survive: Kathy, Mrs. John Govero of Festus and Brenda, Mrs. Clarence Basler Jr. of Bloomsdale.
He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
He was a farmer and a member of the Church of Ste. Genevieve and Knights of Columbus Council 1037 in Ste. Genevieve.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of American Legion Post 150 and VFW Post 2210 in Ste. Genevieve. He was on the board of directors of the Bank of Ste. Genevieve and was a member of Elks Lodge 2674 in Ste. Genevieve.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 9th, after 3 p.m. at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.
The Elks service will be at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The Knights of Columbus rosary will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
The VFW and American Legion services will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
