CHARLES H. KENNEDY
Charles H. Kennedy, proprietor of the English Tea-Room, on James Street North, passed away last night at the City hospital, after an illness fo some length, due to stomach trouble. Deceased was 58 years of age, and was a son of the late John Kennedy, J.P. of London township, and came to this district about, four years ago. On the completion of the Village Inn at Grimsby, Mr. Kennedy was appointed to the management of it, and retained the position until the house was closed about ten months ago. He then came to Hamilton and opened up the English tea-room which he has conducted successfully ever since. He was also manager of the Winona Park Hotel. Since coming to Hamilton Mr. Kennedy made friends who will regret to learn of his death. Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Verne ad two daughters, Miss Gladys Kennedy, lady superintendent of the Gravenhurst Hospital and Miss Natile at home, Jack C. Kennedy another son of the deceased is supposed to have been drowned while making a trip in a small boat from Niagara-on-the-Lake to Toronto, in the storm which took place on Sunday July 11, 1919. Mr. Kennedy's remains were sent to London by the 9:06 a.m. - G.T.R. train this morning and the funeral will take place from the home of his sister, Mrs. Johnston, 224 Richmond St. tomorrow afternoon.
