Isabelle Hudson was the youngest daughter of Henrietta Hudson and William Best. She studied music quite extensively, and along with being a very accomplished violinist and pianist, she made her debut with the opera, "Il Trovatore" in New York. She spoke several languages quite fluently.

She was married four times. Her second marriage to Alexander Turkington Boyce resulted in her only child, Hazel Belle Boyce. Her daughter Hazel died quite tragically at 20 years of age, one and a half years after the birth of her only child. She raised her granddaughter and lived with her until her death in North Carolina in 1954.
It was said that she had the wonderful gift of being able to heal. She could nurse back to health both people, animals and birds. Her daughter, Hazel was stricken with the Spanish flu that killed so many. Isabel would not allow her daughter to go to the hospital, but nursed her back to health at home.
