Elizabeth's husband was killed while working in one the mines that brought him to America. He was crushed to death near Rockville, Indiana in May of 1878.
Elizabeth's obituary read: "Aged Stringtown Woman Expires - Mrs. Elizabeth Mycroft, 90 dies at Son's Home at Snoddy's Mill - Death came to Mrs. Elizabeth Mycroft, 90, resident of Coal Creek community nearly 70 years, at 11:25 p.m. Thursday, February 13, 1936, following an illness of several months. She died at the home of a son, James, with whom she made her home, at Snoddy's Mill. Born in England, Mrs. Mycroft came to this country shortly after her marriage and settled in this vicinity.
Surviving are five children: Thomas Cadman, Cayuga; William Cadman, Perrysville; Mrs. Alice Anderson, Sullivan; Mrs. Anna Coleman, West Liberty; and the son James. Funeral at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Carmel church with burial in Mt. Carmel cemetery." - Covington Republican, Covington, Indiana
