Obituary from "The San Bernardino County Sun," dated Tuesday, October 15, 1929, page 11:

". . . . moved to San Bernardino, California, from her native Texas in 1900. Married Charles M. "Cap" Tyler in 1868, in Bates county, Missouri. Survivors are her husband, a daughter, Mrs. Edward Johnstone, of San Diego, and a son, William Lee Tyler, of Alton, Illinois. Burial in new city cemetery."

From "The San Bernardino County Sun," dated Thursday, March 1, 1928, page 13:

". . . it was on March 1, 1868, that Charles M. Tyler and Lydia Crumps (sic), both 20 years old, looked into the eyes of a kindly Missouri Methodist preacher and took the pledge "till death do us part." It was a celebration of the marriage vows taken 60 years ago in a farmhouse on the plains of Missouri. Moved from Bates county, Mo., to Williiams, Az., to Albuquerque, NM, and finally to San Bernardino, Ca., in 1900. They had a total of 4 children; two of which are alive today; Mrs. Annie Johnstone, of San Diego, and William L. Tyler, of Alton, Illinois."

The children of Lydia and Charles Tyler were:
1. Annie/Adeline Tyler Gibson Johnstone (1872-1940). Married twice, the first to Francis Charles Gibson, in 1889. They had 4 children; Frank W. Gibson, Charles M. Gibson, Raymond G. Gibson, and John E. Gibson. The second marriage was to Edward E. Johnstone in 1907.
2. William Lee Tyler (1869-1934)
3. Susan Medie Tyler Fairchild (1877-1903). Married Oliver M. Fairchild, 1900/1901, in San Bernardino, Ca. Susan was shot and killed by a former suitor, George M. Peterson, in El Paso, Texas. George M. Peterson shot himself after killing Susan.

Lydia Elizabeth Crump Tyler was the daughter of William Crump and Sabrina Fox. William and Sabrina were married in Lawrence county, Arkansas, August 27, 1845 (#114, from "Arkansas County Marriages," 1837-1957), where Sabrina's family had stopped for about a year on their way from Kentucky to Texas. Sabrina's parents were Uel Daniel Fox and Delilah Wyatt Fox. Sabrina was born September 1, 1828, in Hopkins county, Kentucky, and died August 4, 1847 in Grayson county, Texas. From an article written by Tilatha Fox Wilson, regarding Sabrina Fox - ". . . my oldest sister, Sabrina, married while the Fox family was in Arkasnas. She and her new husband went to Texas with the rest of the family."

William Crump remarried to Rebecca Costley (nee: Shelly, widow of William Costley), in about 1850 and they had a son, William Crump, born about 1850 in Texas. Rebecca had 2 children from her first marriage; Jane Costley and Louisa or Eliza Costley See (married John Shelby See).

Note: Lydia may have been born in either Arkansas or Texas.
