She grew up and attended schools in Markham, Toivola and Hibbing, where she graduated. She was united in marriage to Eino Erickson on Oct. 9, 1933, in Hibbing. She lived in Little Swan, Grand Rapids and also Hibbing. Ailie enjoyed reading, volunteering through the Tourist Center, the family farm and the Calivas cabin. Most of all she enjoyed her time with her family and friends.
Ailie is survived by her children: Albert (Betty) Erickson, Shirley (Baldino) Rodorigo, Donald Erickson, and Patricia Sodergren; brother-in-law, Sam Calivas; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and special nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers: George, Walter, Swante and Oiva Hiipakka; sister, Lillian Calivas; and her grandson, Albert Erickson Jr.
