Age 59, of Grand Rapids passed away suddenly on June 22, 2022.
He was preceded in death in by his wife, Karen Sawyer; father, James Sawyer Sr; and father-in-law, Don Swartz.
James is survived by his son, Matt (Sheri) Sawyer; grandchildren, Lily Page Sawyer, Ethan James Sawyer, Abigail Lynn Sawyer and Olivia Grace Sawyer; and great-grandchildren, Nolan and Alexander Smith. Also surviving are his mother, Patricia Sawyer; mother-in-law, Pat Swartz; siblings, Kathy Sawyer, Michele (Larry) Hommerson and Don (Kim) Sawyer; and several nieces and nephews. James worked for many years as an electrician for Windemuller Electric.
A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Monday June 27, 2022 at Heritage Life Story – Van Strien Creston Chapel, 1833 Plainfield Ave NE. Interment in Fairplains Cemetery.
