William Reuben Bellamy, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at Baylor Grapevine Medical Center, in Grapevine, Texas. Born October 7, 1930 as the youngest of five siblings, he was raised in Loris, South Carolina. After attending Clemson University, serving as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, and graduate studies at North Carolina State University in Dairy Science, Bill was a founder of Eastern Foods, Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia and enjoyed a long career as food scientist and business owner.

Bill was born to the late Nathan Hiram Bellamy and Zuella Belle Bellamy and was the beloved husband of the late Mary Bernice Bellamy for 49 years before her death in October 2010. Bill will forever be remembered by his children Eric Bellamy and Regina Bellamy Amolsch, daughter-in-law Sandy Bellamy, son-in-law Christopher Amolsch, and treasured grandchildren Lauren and Ethan Bellamy and Connor and Dylan Amolsch, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Bill was an active member of Civitan International and a longtime member East Point First Mallalieu United Methodist Church in East Point, Georgia.

Bill touched the lives of many people with his generosity, kindness and integrity. Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, May 18, 2012, at 4pm at East Point First Mallalieu United Methodist Church in East Point, Georgia, or funeral services on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 2pm at Camp Swamp United Methodist Church in Loris, South Carolina with Pastor Carl Harris officiating. Committal services will follow at Bellamy-Brooks Cemetery in Longs, SC.
