Minnie Ethel was the last child of Peter and Emmaline (Crosson) Moncus. She was married to Edgar Monroe Polk and they had three children: Mamie Lou, Grover Guy and Edgar Jr. who died in premature birth. Minnie was the granddaughter of Anderson Curby Crosson who was a Confederate soldier and was killed during the Civil War.
