Charline Anita (Peterson) Burns
Age 99, was greeted in Heaven by her late Husband, Jerome (Jerry) at 1:15 a.m. on May 16, 2022. Proceeded in death by Brothers Roland and Leland (Crystal) Peterson, Sisters Leona Peterson and Verene (Stanley) Levitz along with a multitude of Family and Friends that have gone before her . She is survived by Brother-in law, Patrick Burns (Penny); Sister-in-law, Carol Burns; her children, Thomas (Rennae), Jacqueline (Erast) Winiarczyk, Allan (Kurt Jensen), Scott (Laura) and Michael (Rebecca) and foster daughter, Natalie Yellowhammer.
Grandmother of 10, Katherine, John and Elizabeth Burns, Natalie, Jeremiah and Duane Winiarczyk, Bethany (William) Jansen, Luther , Liam and Devyn Burns. Great-grandmother of four, Anthony, Nicolas, Lennon and Ophelia. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, May 24th 10:00 a.m. Visitation, 11:00am service at Washburn-McReavy, Hillside Chapel with a luncheon to follow. Private Interment at a later date.
Charline was born on March, 17, 1923 in Murdock, Minnesota to Buford J. and Mary Alice Peterson (Larson). She was Baptized in 1923 and Confirmed at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Murdock on November, 28, 1937. She attended Swift County public schools, graduating from Murdock High School on the 28th of May, 1941. She moved to Minneapolis in 1941 where she met the love of her life Jerome (Jerry) Burns, they were united in marriage on June 6, 1949. Together they raised five children. She was strong in her faith and proud of her Swedish heritage. Charline worked the majority of her career at Bethany Covenant Home in NE Minneapolis. Charline was an a member of Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church in Minneapolis for 46 years, active in the Altar Guild and various church circles. She enjoyed volunteering at Augustana Care Center, entertaining family and friends. She and Jerry were foster parents to over 40 children throughout the years.
