Born June 10, 1952 in Phoenixville, he was a son of Jean (Ryder) Ackerman & the late John D. Ackerman.
Tom proudly served in the U.S. Army as an MP and dog handler. Following his service, he owned and operated Thomas E. Ackerman Plumbing for many years. He was also a member of East Vincent UCC and Spring Ford Lodge #553 F.&A.M.
Outside of work, Tom greatly enjoyed taking trips to the mountains, hunting with his son, and boating on the river.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Ackerman; his son, Michael Ackerman; 7 grandchildren, Maegan, Emily, Chelsea, Tanner, Johnny, Brenna, Joey; and 5 great grandchildren.
Also surviving are his mother, Jean Ackerman; and his brothers, John "Jack" Ackerman and Tim Ackerman.
He was preceded in death by his third brother, Walt Vanden Eden.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service in the Devlin Rosmos Kepp and Gatcha Funeral Home, 517 Main Street, Phoenixville on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Masonic funeral rites will be rendered at 10:45 a.m. A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m.
Burial will follow in East Vincent UCC Cemetery, Spring City.
