Sallie was the 7th of 11 children born to Michael McKinney & Hepsy Adeline McClure and grew up in Fannin County & the town of Blue Ridge, Georgia.

She married on 02 Apr 1961 at Fannin County to Edgar Woodville Butt and raised six children in Blue Ridge GA and Lenoir City TN.
