Corrie was a Dutch civilian war casualty of World War II. She was killed in a massive Allied-led bombing of the city of Nijmegen, on February 22, 1944.

"The family of Pieter and Dirkje van Driel-Klop was badly hit by the bombing. Their house on Parkdwarsstraat was hit with a direct hit, killing mother Dirkje, daughter Corrie and three sons, August, Pieter Jr. and Dirk. Son Cees and daughter Teunie, rescued from the burning house by a German sailor, survived. Father Pieter worked in inland shipping in Germany and also survived."
