JAMIESON, WILLIAM, Mr. William Mealor Jamieson passed away Thursday, January 3, 2008.

He was born in Atlanta, Georgia and enjoyed an active childhood in Valdosta.

After graduating from Valdosta High School, Mr. Jamieson earned an Electrical Engineering degree from Emory University, followed by post graduate studies at Harvard.

He was a veteran of World War II, having proudly served his country with the U.S. Army Signal Corps in the South Pacific.

Mr. Jamieson was a longtime Orlando resident, first making Orlando his home in 1946 when he began his career with Southern Bell as an Electrical Engineer, and retiring 36 years later as District Manager.

He was active in the Telephone Pioneers for many years, an Elder with Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church, and a former President of the Kiwanis Club of Orlando. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Jamieson enjoyed sharing his love of fishing and golf with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ada Mealor and
William Adolphus Jamieson, his first wife Evangeline Campbell Jamieson and their sons, Billy and Danny.

Mr. Jamieson is survived by his wife of 25 years, Emily B. Jamieson; three daughters, Laura Jamieson Zagrocki and her husband Dr. Dwain Zagrocki of Minn-eola, Sharon E. Holmes of Tallahassee, Leslie Holmes Anderson and her husband David Anderson of Weaverville, NC; six grandchildren, SSG Michael Anderson, Laurel Harbin, Maria Haag, William Anderson and his wife Laura, Seaman Ian Zagrocki, Brian Zagrocki; and three great-grandchildren, Emily, Chloe and Chad.
