Dorothy J. Faurote, 86, of Decatur, IN, passed away on November 1, 2014 at her son's residence in Ft. Wayne.
She was born on June 26, 1928 in Allen County, IN to the late Ralph J. and Helen B. (Meese) Bower.
On January 15, 1949 she married Francis H. "Fritz" Faurote; he died on December 14, 1993.
She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. Dorothy worked for Ferris Bower Jewelry for over 25 years and ran a childcare business for 31 years.
She is survived by 2 sons Michael G. (Laura Brazill) Faurote of Ft. Wayne and Steven F. (Colette) Faurote of Decatur; a daughter Beth Ann Faurote of Decatur; 6 grandchildren Brittney (Tony) Heckman, Tiffany (Jeff) Fennig, Adam (Jessica) Faurote, Emily (Ryne) Johnson, Max & Alex Hackman; 5 great grandchildren Hailey & Aaliyah Faurote, Adrienne Johnson, Addyson Fennig, and Cole Heckman.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home with a reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with visitation 1 hour prior in the St. Mary's Parish Hall and Father David Voors presiding.
