He was born 04 April, 1931 in Waverly, New York and was the son of the late Susie Christabel Carmer Burbank and Fred Burbank. Allen was married to the former Anita Shaw.
Allen was a proud Veteran of the United States Navy, having served world wide on the USS Tweedy. (The USS Tweedy (DE-532) was a John C. Butler-class destroyer escort in service with the Navy from 1944 to 1946 and again from 1952 to 1969. She was sunk as a target in 1970. ) He was also employed by the Waverly School District as the head mechanic in the bus barn for 25 years.
His wife Anita survived him until she passed on 18 August 1992 following an extended illness.) Allen was survived by Anita's sons: Arthur Cole of Athens, PA, Steven Cole of California, Anthony Burbank of Buxton, NC and Frank Burbank of Lockwood, NY; his sister Mrs. Mary J. Burbank Hanyen (Donald) of Milan, PA; three brothers: Robert Burbank of Waverly, NY; Raymond Rauch of Athens, PA; and William Rauch, Elmira, NY; and numerous grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in August at the convenience of the family. Private funeral and committal services were held at Luckner Funeral Home in Waverly with the Rev. William Wells, pastor of North Orwell Chapel, officiating. Burial was in the North Orwell Cemetery, North Orwell, PA.
