Bruce Blevins, 96, of Kim Street, Princeton, WV, passed away Friday, July 1, 2022 in Wilmington, NC.
Born on March 15, 1926 in Beckley, WV, he was a son of the late Alfonso and Hattie Mae Jones Blevins. He was of the Pentecostal faith, had been a resident to Princeton for 33 years but also enjoyed spending time in Wilmington. He was a retired coal miner for 39 years at Eastern Coal Company in Keystone and was member of the UMWA. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Army and was a member of the VFW and American Legion. After his retirement, he volunteered at the Princeton Fitness Center for 17 years and also enjoyed his Wednesday nursing home visits with his longtime friend, Ballard Morris.
In addition to his wife, she was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Tote "Picky" Blevins.
Survivors include his sons, David (Denise) Blevins of Wilmington, NC, Michael Blevins of Leckie, WV; a daughter, Brenda Bolen of Waverly, OH; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Dillon of Lithia, FL.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 78, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with Rev. Sammie _______________ officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Military honors will be performed by the Mercer County Veteran's Honor Guard.
