The former Allie Jean Dickerson was born at her childhood home in the Winborn Chapel Community on 11 January 1932, the youngest daughter of the late Israel D. Dickerson Sr and Katie Irene Ball. Allie Jean graduated from Rocky Creek High School in George County, Mississippi in 1950 and worked for Malone Motors in Lucedale until 1954.
She married Newton Breeden on November 19, 1954 at Winborn Chapel Methodist Church by Reverend Baggett, and together they lived in Mobile, Alabama from 1954 until 1959. During that time, she worked for Food Town in Mobile. Since 1960, she and Newton lived in the Winborn Chapel Community in Greene County, Mississippi, she was a fulltime housewife and mother rearing two children and running a farm.
She was a lifelong member of Winborn Chapel United Methodist Church and taught Adult Religious Education Classes for over thirty years.
Allie Jean was an avid gardener and farmer who also enjoyed long weekend drives with her husband and children. She had a love of family and was quick to put food on the table for any family or friends. Allie Jean lived her life in service to others.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Newton Breeden, parents, Israel Dickerson and Katie Ball Dickerson, six brothers James Monroe "Bud" Dickerson, Cecil Pat Dickerson Sr, Marvin Ray Dickerson, Guy Marvin Dickerson Sr, Marion Lonnie "Dub" Dickerson, Israel D. Dickerson Jr; and four sisters Vivian Brown, Mildred Irene Eubanks, Mary Ellen Barrow, and Iris Dean Mathis.
Allie Jean Breeden was survived by her two sons, Richard (Helen) Breeden of Winborn Chapel Community and John Breeden of Virginia, her three grandchildren: Jarrod (Jessica) Breeden of Houston, TX, Emily Breeden Gulf Shores, Alabama, and Katelyn Breeden and by three great-grandchildren: Devin (Emily) Breeden and Sofia and Parker (Jarrod) Breeden. She is also survived by her childhood best friend and sister-in-law Helen Tucker Breeden and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The funeral was held 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Winborn Chapel United Methodist Church, Winborn Chapel Road, Lucedale, MS with Rev. Jesse Long and Rev. Jim Hall officiating. Burial was in Winborn Chapel Cemetery following the services.
