David Solon Archer, 78, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Holston Valley Medical Center.
He was born to parents Claude and Lula Archer on September 26, 1943 in Greeneville, Tennessee.
David graduated from Ottway High school in Mosheim, Tennessee and relocated to Blountville, Tennessee where he would go onto reside for most of his life. He spent 4 years in the Navy, proudly serving his country. David worked for Eastman Chemical Company as a pipefitter until retiring; he then became a school bus driver for Sullivan County schools.
David had a creative mind which led him to enjoy fixing and tinkering with various projects in his spare time. In his earlier years, he enjoyed being outdoors and hunting as well. Family was important to him; he was a loving husband, father, brother and friend to many. David's presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends and loved ones.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lula Archer and his wife of 44 years, Carolyn
Archer.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Megan Archer (Joe Wignall); son, Brian
Archer (Amanda); brother, Jack Archer; grandchildren, Nathan Archer, Jack Light, Jordan Light, Reagan Light, and Amelia Light and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation for Mr. Archer will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the chapel of East Tennessee Funeral Home 2630 Hwy 75, Blountville, Tennessee 37617.
A graveside service will take place on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at 11:00am in the Garden of Solomon
in East Tennessee Cemetery.
