Funeral services for Roy L. Taylor, 87, of Waynesboro, were held Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008, from the Freeman Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, with Dr. Steve Smith officiating.

Interment followed at Waynesboro Cemetery.

Born on April 13, 1920, Taylor was a native of Noxapater, and was an insurance agent. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro, and a member of the Lions Club. He died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008 at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Nell W. Taylor of Waynesboro; three daughters, Virginia Lane Johnston of Magnolia Springs, Ala., Sandra Jean McEachern of Milton, Fla., and Linda Ruth Wade of Katy, Texas; two brothers, William Guy Taylor of Waynesboro and Aubrey Taylor of Hattiesburg; a sister, Mildred Wells of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, Lara Lynn Murphy, Hampton Lee Johnston, Matthew Taylor Johnston, Kimberly Shea Copeland, Mary Taylor Lanctot, Christy Nicole Battaglia, Courtney Nell McEachern and Brian McRae Wade; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Nina Robinson.

Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of arrangements.
