William Alfred Smith, 74, died Sept 4 in Milwaukee, Wis. Mr. Smith was born on Aug 9, 1912 to Doris and William Alfred Smith. He was raised in Napa and attended high school in Lodi. He also attended Lodi Academy. He was married to Eldena Werner. Mr. Smith worked at Mare Island Naval Shipyard, the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad and retired from American Motors Co. as shop steward. He moved to Milwaukee after being discharged from the Army in World War II. Mr. Smith was a member of the Milwaukee Central Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He is survived by two daughters: Beverly Lombardo of Sacramento and Darlene Kennedy of Folsom; four grandchildren and many relatives.
