Monmouth paper, 30 Aug 1917:  "Long Illness Ends in Death Yesterday." Harry G. Carlson, Farmer of Near Coldbrook Victim of Tuberculosis   Harry G. Carlson, a well known and respected young farmer, passed away yesterday evening shortly after 5 o'clock at the home of his father John Carson, near Coldbrook, the cause of his death being given as tuberculosis.  He had been afflicted for the past 2 years, but his condition was not considered serious until about 4 months ago, when he took t his bed.  His death is the first loss in a family of 9 children, the mother of whom passed away 4 years ago last January.  He was born near Roseville on Sep 24, 1893, and was the third son of Mr. & Mrs. John Carlson.  He has been a resident of the vicinity of Monmouth during practically his entire life, being engaged as a farmer.  His genial disposition and character won for him many close friends who with his relatives will mourn his loss.  Deceased was a member of the First Swedish Lutheran church of this city and always took a prominent part in the work until compelled to remain at home because of his illness.  Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon a 2 o'clock at First Lutheran Church, in charge of the Rev Oscar Purn, pastor.   The pallbearers will be the 3 brothers, Arthur, Raymond and Clyde and Lester Peterson, Ray Lafferty and Roy Miller. Survived by his father, four brothers, Arthur, Chester, Raymond and Clyde, and 4 sisters, Bessie, Elizabeth, Mamie, and Nina and two aunts, Mrs. Ben Anderson of Buhl, Idaho and Mrs. John Peterson of Monmouth.
