Son of John Davis and Barbara Ritchie Davis. Brothers were T.O., and Jim, Sisters were Paralee, Vanere, Diana and Matha Jane. Hie married Darcus Mays in 1908. 14 children were born to the marriage, 12 living to maturity. He died while hunting with his son, Melvin. He was coon hunting and fell over a bluff.
