Dudley Gene Barlow Sr., 66, Barron, Wis., died Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Clairemont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Eau Claire.
He was born Dec. 21, 1941, at Indianapolis, Ind., the son of John and Martha Barlow. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp. for six years. He then moved to the Birchwood area in 1966 and later to the Barron area.
On June 15, 1977, he married Cindy Scheps at Rockford, Ill.
Dudley was an avid fisherman. He loved to travel around the country as a truck driver, delivering campers. No matter where he went, his sense of humor tended to brighten a person's day.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Dudley Gene Jr. (Julie) of Dupo, Ill.; a daughter, MaryAnn Barlow and husband Patrick Cowart of Eau Claire; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a stepbrother, Ernie (Brenda) Norris of Orlinda, Tenn.
Dudley's parents preceded him in death.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, from First Lutheran Church, Barron, with Rev. Lisa Shank officiating and burial at Wayside Cemetery, Barron.
Visitation will be held an hour prior to services at the church Wednesday.
