He was a hard working blacksmith most of his life. Late in life, he married Lucy Mary Tyler, daughter of Joseph W Knights on October 17, 1931 in Los Angeles, California. He was 62 years old and "Lulu" was 52. They later divorced before he died in 1944.
The disease that took Lewis' life was debilitating and it's very likely he was in constant pain. He was in the sanitarium for a little over 10 months before he passed. A very sad ending for this man. His death certificate states he was cremated. I have created this memorial to honor him and connect him with his father. Possibly his mother remarried, but I have no record of her after 1870.
