Herbert Wayne Owings, 53, of Okeechobee, Florida, formerly of this area, passed away Friday (May 17, 1985) in Okeechobee.
The son of Clell and Anna Palmer-Kirby Owings, he was born September 10, 1931 he married Melba Frances Jones and to this marriage three daughters were born. On December 4, 1976, he married Helen Patch who survives. Also are three daughters, Frances Ann Owings and Mrs. Mike (Barbara) Petre, both of Bevier and Kathryn Lou Owings of Macon and one grandson, Lance Michael Petre.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
At an early age, Mr. Owings moved to Edina where he graduated from Edina High School. He served with the United States Marines in 1952.
He was a member of the Elks Club.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon (May 25, 1985) in the chapel of Foster-Fohn Memorial Home. The Rev. Terry Hunsaker will conduct the services. Burial of the cremains will be in Highland Park cemetery.
