6109 Private E R Fry, 3rd Battalion the Royal Warwickshire Regiment. The 3rd and 4th Battalions the Royal Warwickshire Regiment each provided a Mounted Infantry Company, including that deployed to South Africa for the Second Anglo Boer War in 1901, and saw a great deal of fighting. Private Fry served in the Mounted Infantry company of the 3rd Battalion, joining the 17th Mounted Infantry in South Africa. He died of disease at Bloemfontein on 25 Dec 1901. He is also commemorated on the Royal Warwickshire Regiments Boer War memorial in St Mary's Church, Old Square, Warwick, Warwickshire, England (see: https://www.warmemorialsonline.org.uk/memorial/227584/).
