Michael Damien Martinez, 42 of Hambleton, WV formerly Clarksburg, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at his residence. He was born July 22, 1979 in Hobbs, NM, and was raised by Bill and Aurora Coon of Carolina, WV. He attended Liberty High School and owned and operated Superior Savage where he tore down Victorian Homes and Barns to sale. He loved antiques, wood working, and anything vintage.

In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his two children, Sierrah Martinez, Reynoldsville, Brycen Curtis, Clarksburg; and one grandson, Jetson Griffith.

The family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive Clarksburg, on Friday, July 22, 2022 from 3:00 PM until time of Funeral Service at 7:00 PM with Pastor Bill Coon officiating.

Michael Gonzales was born in Hobbs, New Mexico to Dianne Gonzales. When he was about five years old, Dianne married Michael Martinez and (Little ) Michael's last name was changed to Martinez. The family lived in San Miguel, New Mexico. When (little) Michael was five years old he went with his aunt and uncle, Aurora and Bill Coon. They first lived in Culloden, West Virginia and then when Michael was six they move to Clarksburg, West Virginia. Michael attended public school in Clarksburg, Northview Elem., and Liberty High School. He then went on his own, salvaging old houses and barns, with his business, Barn Doors by Superior Salvage.

Michael and Bridget Miles had a baby girl, whose name is Sierrah Lynn Martinez. Later to Michael and Erika Lynn Curtis was born a baby boy named Brycen Samuel Curtis.

Michael had a good heart and was very personable. He found it easy to meet and greet people and they also liked him.

On July 18, 2022, just four days before his birthday, Michael was found dead in an out building, in Parsons, West Virginia.

He will be sorely missed by all his family and his many friends.
