David Andreychek, 72, of Shrewsbury passed away Sunday, July 17, 2022 at his home. He was the husband of Beverly A. (Yost) Andreychek of Shrewsbury; they shared 49 years of marriage together. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was a son of the late Paul and Elizabeth (Romanoff) Andreychek. Dave graduated from the University of Pittsburgh; where he studied Electrical Engineering. Throughout his career, he worked at various jobs for electrical engineering. He retired from Northrop Grumman in 2016. He was an active and faithful member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church; where he taught adult Sunday school classes for many years and participated in serving at Lord's Lunch. Dave was a member of Yorkcarvers; he enjoyed relief carving, figures, and crafting decorative spoons. He was a member of York County Astronomical Society, and also enjoyed viewing stars at his home with his telescope, birdwatching, and hiking through the woods with his wife, family, and friends. He loved his Lionel model train and cherished being able to run it for anyone to watch; especially his grandchildren. Dave is survived by his wife, Beverly, his sons Eric Andreychek and wife, Shana; Brian Andreychek and wife, Stephanie; six grandchildren Christopher, Reece, Rayn, Hope, Kinsley, and Tenley; brother Tom Andreychek and wife, Mindy; sister Paulette Weiss and husband, Glenn; and many nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at Hartenstein Funeral & Cremation Care, Inc.; 24 N. Second St. New Freedom, PA 17349. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church; 175 E. Main St., New Freedom, PA 17349. The family encourages those attending to please wear a mask. Interment will follow at New Freedom Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church; at above address; or Alzheimer's Association; 2595 Interstate Dr., Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110; or American Diabetes Association; 150 Monument Rd., Suite 100, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
