Mrs. Edith Marie Vercoe, 66, wife of William Henry Vercoe, Manson druggist, died suddenly December 18 at her home. She was born October 11, 1886, at Dadeville, Mo., daughter of James Washington Thurman and Josephine (Josie) Laura Wicks. She came to Mt. Vernon, Wa., in 1902 and was married to William Henry Vercoe on November 29, 1906, at Belleville, Wa. They lived in Bellingham for five years and 12 years at Burlington prior to coming to the Chelan-Manson district 20 years ago.
Surviving are her husband; two sons, Harold Vercoe of Tacoma, and Ralph Vercoe of Point Barrow, Alaska; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Johnson and Mrs. Lucile Hubbard, both of Manson; one brother, John B. Thurman of Bow, Wa., one sister, Mrs. Ruth Kobelt of Seattle; and seven grandchildren.
