Bryan "Spotted Owl" Martin deCheubel, 66, entered into eternal rest on Sunday morning, January 12, 2020 at his residence in Walterboro. He was born in Richmond, VA on March 7, 1953, to the late Mr. William Martin deCheubel & the late Mrs. Burnice Braby deCheubel. Mr. Martin was the husband to Mrs. Patricia Durr-deCheubel. He belonged to the Chichahominy Tribe, where his Grandfather was once served as Chief. He served our country faithfully in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era, having been assigned to the Air-Wing Division. He was a member of the Walterboro Dart League for many years and in his younger days he was a heavy machine operator, which he enjoyed doing. He was known by many of the kids as "Mr. B" when he worked for the Colleton County School District as a bus driver. The kids really loved him and he really loved the kids. He was a man who always liked a good laugh and his family will certainly miss him. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Stacy Michelle Burnett (David), Terra Dawn deCheubel, Robert William deCheubel, Barbara Durr Morrissey (Bill), Alan Wayne Durr (Susan) and James Anthony Durr (Amber); twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; brothers, Jan deCheubel (Sharon) and Darrell Maurice deCheubel. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Kelly deCheubel. Funeral services will be conducted 11 o'clock Friday Morning, January 17, 2020, from Nova Church, 4955 Jefferies Highway, Walterboro. The Reverend Dr. Zane Brown officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow in Glendale Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation this Thursday evening from 6 o'clock until 8o 'clock at The Brice W. Herndon And Sons Funeral Homes And Crematory, Walterboro Chapel, 1193 Bells Hwy, Walterboro, SC, 29488.
