Albert F. Rosetti, 88, a lifelong Jessup resident, died Monday in the Hospice Unit at Regional Hospital of Scranton. He and his wife, Dorothy Camoni Rosetti, would have celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on Aug. 27.
Born in Jessup, son of the late Charles and Nancy Petrini Rosetti, he graduated from Jessup High School. After enlisting in the Navy and serving during World War II, he worked as a coal miner for 18 years. Before his retirement, he worked for Chrysler Corp., and later at Chamberlain Corp. He was a member of St. Mary's Assumption Church, Queen of Angels Parish, Jessup, a lifetime member of the American Legion Michael Steiner Post 411, Jessup, a member of the Carbino Club, Jessup, and was a member of the St. Ubaldo Society.
Al was a very loving, kind and most generous man, whose family meant everything to him. He always looked forward to Sunday dinners with his family. He loved having his grandchildren and great-grandchildren around him at all times. That made "Pop's" day. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman, who loved watching birds and squirrels, and fed them daily. Gardening was his favorite pastime as well as following the N.Y. Yankees.
Albert's family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart and Commonwealth Hospice for its compassion, kindness and wonderful care.
Also surviving are three children, Gail V. and husband, Vince; Dean R. and wife, Maggie; and Paulette R. and friend, Denise R.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Albina F.i, Jennie M. and husband, Arthur; and Eleanor S. and husband, Leonard; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. from the Arthur A. Albini Funeral Home, 1003 Church St., Jessup, with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 in Queen of Angels Parish at St. Michael's Church, First Avenue, Jessup, with military honors by the Navy following Mass. Interment, St. John's Cemetery, Jessup.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 8:30 to 11 at the funeral home.
