Former Great Kills resident
Patricia Altilio, 86, of Prescott, Ariz., passed away of natural causes on Oct. 22, 2017. She was a former resident of Great Kills, Staten Island, N.Y., and Tinton Falls, New Jersey.
Patricia was born in Memphis, Tenn., to Howard and Doris Donnalley and moved to New York following her marriage to Daniel Altilio in 1946. They were married for 66 years before Daniel's passing in 2012.
Patricia was best known for her loving and gentle way. Her greatest joy was her husband and children. She led a full life in addition to her first career as a homemaker. An active parishioner at St. Clare's Church, she sang in the chorus. Patricia attended The College of Staten Island and was awarded an associate degree in nursing and became a registered nurse. Her most rewarding position was caring for merchant seamen as a public health nurse at the United States Public Health Hospital in Staten Island, N.Y. Patricia was an expert seamstress who designed her eldest daughter's wedding gown. She was an avid painter, photographer, and crocheted beautifully.
Patricia leaves behind six children, Dan Altilio, Jr., Valerie Parisi, David Altilio, Michael Altilio, Angela Lewent, and Stephen Altilio. She was a grandmother to Jeanne, Amy, Christopher, Thomas, Jesse, and Phillip. She was also a great-grandmother to four, and a great-great- grandmother to one, all of whom survive her. Patricia also leaves behind a sister and brother who reside in Memphis, Tenn.
Planned for the spring or summer of 2018 is a memorial service and interment of Patricia's remains in Staten Island, N.Y.
