Dale Edgar Alcott, age 83, of Rochester, died Saturday, December 2, 2017 at his home with family present, following a two-year battle with lung cancer.

Dale was born July 17, 1934 in Pope County, MN to Ellis and Alice (Abraham) Alcott. He graduated from Stewartville High School in 1952.

He married Betty Ann Fair on August 18, 1956 in Winona at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1956-1958 mainly stationed in Barstow, CA.

Returning to Rochester in 1958, Dale worked as a Cadillac Technician at Clements Chevrolet for 36 years. Upon retiring, Dale, along with Betty, worked as a driver for an additional 19 years into their early 80's.

He loved fishing and camping, especially at Lake of the Woods, and enjoyed snowmobiling as well. Dale was a life-member of the Knights of Columbus, National Rifle Association and Southern MN Sportsman's Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Alice Alcott; sister, Dorothy Tienter; and brother, Roy Alcott.
