Cynthia S. Carter Schooler 51, of Indianapolis, died Saturday, January 26, 2008. Cynthia was born October 27, 1956; Indianapolis, IN. She graduated from Zionsville Community High School 1975; attended Vincennes University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education and Master's degree in Special Education from IUPUI. Cynthia was a special education teacher at Kitley Intermediate School, special education teacher's aide at North Wayne Elementary School, and worked at the Eagle Creek Animal Clinic. She participated in the dog home training program for ICAN (Indiana Canine Assistance Network). As a parent she assisted with various school programs, including the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), Ben Davis High School band, the Ben Davis soccer program, and North Wayne Elementary School PROUD program. Her hobbies included cooking (especially baking), running, horseback riding, music, and reading. She had a great love of animals, especially dogs. She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Indianapolis and taught Sunday School there. Above all she was a super mom and beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and friend. She is survived by husband Steve, whom she married October 7, 1978 in Indianapolis. Cynthia is also survived by her children Matt, Andy, Zack and Ellie, father James Carter, and brothers, David and Wayne Carter. She was preceded in death by mother Claire (Hannington) Carter. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 29, 4:00 - 8:00 PM at Flanner & Buchanan, 105 W. Pine Street, Zionsville and Wednesday, January 30, 6:00 - 7:00 PM at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 30, 7:00 PM at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th Street, Indianapolis.
